Yield: 1 Batch

4		Apples
1/4	c	Water (barely)
1		Cinnamon stick; 2" long
1/4	c	Sugar; or to taste

Pare and core the apples and slice into a saucepan. Add the water and cinnamon (optional), cover, and simmer over low heat until very tender, about 10 minutes. Remove the cinnamon stick. Mash the apples with a fork until kind of smooth, then add some sugar if you like and serve.
